Moana Albrechtson Sonoda, 1954-2009

Our classmate, Moana Albrechtson Sonoda passed away on February 10th after a long battle with cancer. She was 54 years old and is survived by her husband Harry, daughters Brandy, Sherry and Gemmi; mother Doris Voss; brothers, Spark and Kip Albrechtson; sister, Luana Argel; eight step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Moana worked with her husband Harry at Sonoda Masonry in Kaneohe. They were very active members of their church, The Ark Christian Center. Funeral services will be held at the Ark Christian Center, 45-1141 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744 on Friday, February 20th at 7 p.m. The church is located on Kamehameha Highway near Kahuhipa Street. Free parking is available across the street at American Savings Bank.

Cards and remembrances can be sent to the Sonoda Family at the church address.

Moana Sonoda is the 29th member of the Class of '72 to pass away. The last was George Kanalu Young on August 31, 2008.

Moana's beauty and grace is her aura. As with Harry, her mana came flooding back to me. Her smile and gaze always held me for seconds.
We can all relish having had her pass through our lives.
