Though this is the primary source of aggregate on Oahu, no doubt it will someday (long after we're dead and gone) become a landfill. Shot this yesterday, thought some of you might wanna have a look at Kapaa Quarry in Kailua. - Peter

kala mai, I forgot to name the site of the photo in my blog... Yes, this is indeed the Kapaa Quarry on the windward side of Oahu. The depth of the quarry pit is simply not viewable from the Kailua side (H3), nor from even the top of the Stairway to Heaven in Haiku. >Peter
