Another Spirited Gang Hits the IMUA

Debbie Lau Okamura did some back up dancing while Victor Punua belted out some old tunes. People were coming and going from 5:30 to midnight to celebrate the March birthdays at the IMUA Lounge.

Rolland Harvest showed up late into the evening with several of his co-workers from the Honolulu Fire Department. They were out celebrating Rolland's recent promotion to Deputy Chief. Pictured with Rolland: Fred Miyagi, Benny Medina and Joe Doughty.

Chris Dawe Opiopio was all smiles joining our birthday celebration for the first time. She paused for a picture with Joey Akeo Miyashiro and BJ DeMello Tang.

Peter Gonsalves and Leonard Batungbacal also made their first appearances at the IMUA and spent some time visiting with classmates. Left to right: Peter, Noelle Kanoho, Leonard, Keith Lima, Venus Colon and Fred Miyagi.

Front Row: Fred, Victor, Joanne, BJ, Chris, (Tony Say '73), Debbie, Venus, Noelle, Brian. Back Row: Keith Lima, Benny, Joey, Peter, Kevin Lima, Joe, Leonard. Not pictured: Thomas Paakaula, Richard Holloway, Rolland Harvest, Betty Yap Lau.

Who knew Leonard could sing? Debbie, Joanne and Betty swoon over the man with golden voice.
Joanne graced us with her beautiful voice and Debbie made her karaoke debut.

Also wanted to mention that we (me, Fred and Bimo) saw Darwin Keolanui in Kona over the weekend. The "Prince of Punalu'u" looked great and caught us up on the last 35 years of his life. He was in Kona visiting his father and sister. Darwin lives and works in Reno, Nevada. You can email him at: punaluuprince@yahoo.com

Next IMUA Lounge get together: Always the 3rd Sunday of the Month. That would be April 18th.

The owner of IMUA Lounge had an event last year called IMUA IDOL. The event was planed and run by HULAWOOD Productions. The owner of HULAWOOD Productions told the owner of IMUA lounge that if you make money then I will charge you for the event. IMUA lounge made over $20,000 for the event and when it came time to pay HULAWOOD Productions the owners have failed to pay anything but the cost of supplies for printing and paper. This is now a year later and they have still not paid. Then to top it all off IMUA Lounge is now advertising that they are having IMUA Idol for 2011. This is a company who didn't pay their bill for 2010 and now is stealing they idea from the creator HULAWOOD Productions. I just want everyone to know what kind of a owner of IMUA Lounge is.
