Aloha Everyone....So I've been thinking about getting a "blog" going because of the amount of class information that comes to me almost daily. The website is working fine, but it does take a lot of time to accumulate enough information and pictures to make wholesale changes to the site. I think most people will look at the website when it's updated and then don't really go to it until the next big event happens or I send out an email that tells everyone to look at the website. I've been thinking about a blog because I think more people would look at something that could be updated more often (I'm not committing to "daily" but I know I could post up items several times a week).
I gets lots of emails from classmates about how cool it is to be up on our class news and events, but I've wanted more "dialogue" from our classmates, more participation from people in our class that are willing to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas about subjects that are important to all of us. It was nice to get an exchange of thoughts from different classmates about the recent closing of Aloha Airlines. We have a very smart, experienced, wise and diverse group of classmates and as we get older, I think it's important to have this exchange. When I get in front of classmates, get emails from them or phone calls, I'm always inspired to share those experiences with everyone else.
I think this is the way to do it. I'm hoping people will comment, send pictures, write stories and articles, email links, etc. Having a blog will also cut down on the amount of emails that I send out (assuming of course, that people get into the habit of reading and interacting with the blog). Plus, I think the blog is more my style. I'm a writer from way back in the KaMoi days, so I'm hoping to lure some of you out....Aloha.
