Happenings in Portland

Over the weekend, I had a chance to attend Oregon State's Luau, as the guest of Duane and Bette Chun. Their daughter, Corinne (KS'07) is a freshman danced in five numbers during the show. Sheridan Cockett, who also lives in Portland, joined us as well. About 500 people attended and were treated to a concert by local group, Koauka, immediately following the luau. Corinne has had a great freshman year and was also a cheerleader, continuing on from her Kamehameha days when the Warrior cheering squad were national champions. Also, over the weekend (the 27th), Sheri Awai Garboden celebrated her birthday. She is the director of human resources for FLIR (a major manufacturer of night vision equipment) and a long-time Portland resident.
